ILSI America was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Costa Mesa, California. The business model at the time was simple and became a supplier of crystal and clock oscillators to support the North American frequency control market. Over the next 30 years, as global demand for frequency-controlled products grew exponentially and globally, ILSI responded to changing markets and customer bases through organic growth and acquisitions.

ILSI AmericaLLC offers a wide range of frequency control products. Our main business is the development and supply of quartz or piezoelectric crystal products, including crystal oscillators of various package types and quartz or piezoelectric crystals. Our crystal oscillator packages include clock oscillators, MEMS oscillators, VCXO, TCXO, TCVCXO and OCXO products. In 1995, ILSI opened its office in Beijing, China. In 1998, ILSI America moved into the 10,000-square-foot world headquarters in Reno, Nevada. ILSI's Korea office opened in 2007 to achieve our goal of providing real physical stores in the US and Asia, consisting of direct employees to support our rapidly growing customer base in North America, Mexico, Asia and Europe.

In 2013, ILSI acquired MMDMonitor/Quartztek. The acquisition of MMDMonitor/Quartztek doubles our existing global frequency control print position and active customer base. ILSI's acquisition of MMD does not interfere with our customer supply chain. ILSI is now significantly improving sales in Southern California (where MMDMonitorMonitor/Quartztek is located) and will need to open two new regional sales offices in 2013 to handle Los Angeles, California, Orange County, California and San Diego, California. area.
